Michael Buckius is a writer, filmmaker, and teacher.

Born and raised in Lancaster, PA, he earned his undergraduate degree in Film and Media Arts from Temple University, and his MFA in Creative Writing with distinction from Northern Arizona University.

He is the Co-Founder and current Program Director at Recovery Center for the Arts and teaches at The Sidney Poitier New American Film School at Arizona State University.

He has been a featured reader at many literary events and is a prolific independent filmmaker. His first full-length poetry and creative nonfiction collection, Mustache in Plain Sight, was released in 2022 through Tolsun Books, and his music videos and short films have been shown at numerous festivals.

He is available for speaking engagements, teaching, and film work.
